Easy Intructions for Letterpress
Easy Intructions for Foil
After placing your order, if your design needs adjustment to make it suitable for Letterpress and Foiling, there may be a charge for any changes required.
Letterpress printing with Foil
Foiling has very little impression into the card (very little show-through on the reverse) and looks great on single or double thick stocks.
If you choose a thinner stock (e.g 300gsm) then the impression for Letterpress will not be as deep as a thicker stock (e.g 600gsm or double-thick)
You will run the risk of show-through on the other side if we don't duplex the stock (double-thick)
If you choose a double thick stock for Letterpress AND Foiling on the same design, we’ll Foil first (it’s a little easier with the heat and the pressure) and then duplex before the Letterpress element. Bear in mind that you can lose some of the impression due to the gluing and pressure required to stick the stocks together.
Letterpress impression depth varies from stock to stock. Click here to learn more about letterpress printing on different types and weights of stock.
Deboss / Blind Letterpress Printing
Blind letterpress is fabulous for edging designs/floral patterns etc but if you need the print to be legible consider adding a touch of ink.
If you're in any doubt whether your artwork is suitable for Letterpress and digital printing and to check it meets our guidelines submit your design and our Customer Happiness Managers, will let you know ASAP if there's any issues to fix or you're good to place your order.
