Embossing is most suitable for mid-to-light paper colours so the shadows of the embossing can help with legibility. The Embossed and Letterpress impression will be deeper on duplexed (double-thick) stocks than on thinner single thickness stocks. Click here to learn more about letterpress printing on different types and weights of stock. If you order a double-thick stock, you can choose for your Embossing to be visible on the other side of the card (a crisp reverse impression) OR for the back of the card to be smooth by duplexing after Embossing. Bear in mind that you can lose some of the impression due to the gluing and pressure required to stick the stocks together.
Blind letterpress is fabulous for edging designs/floral patterns etc but if you need the print to be legible consider adding a touch of ink.
